A WEEK IN PARADISE | grand fiesta americana los cabos
In case you missed my pictures of paradise, I have those and more to show you from our trip to Los Cabos this May. Let’s just say that I wish I never had to leave. While I have the opportunity to travel to a variety of hotels and countries around the world, like most travel journalists, I still don’t think the Grand Fiesta Americana could be beat. Out of all the wonderful places I have visited this year, the Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos is potentially my number one resort destination. Don’t get me wrong, there are some very, very close seconds, but whenever it comes to someone asking me how this trip was, I always find myself wishing I was back in Los Cabos already!
Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos is definitely somewhere you need on your holiday radar though. This will be the third resort that I have stayed in within Mexico, and probably one of my absolute favorites. And the reasons I really wanted to expand on, as this resort deserves some recognition.
LEAVE YOUR WORRIES AT HOME.
And your shoes (almost). I’m not sure that I know of many other resorts where you almost don’t even need to wear a pair of shoes (depending on where you choose to spend your time within the resort). Of course, there are still times you can choose to wear your favorite heels or a pair of sandals, but you can plan your meals and activities around being as casual as you wish!
We arrived at the resort on a Wednesday afternoon to a bustling, yet not chaotic or busy-feeling, lobby. Greeted with a huge smile from each staff member we met, offered refreshments from the moment we arrived, and shown to our well-appointed room, from there we experienced ultimate relaxation.
FIND YOUR ULTIMATE PEACE.
The Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos Resort hosts a combination of suites, rooms and beach villas. We were extremely lucky to be settled into a room with a gorgeous ocean view and balcony overlooking the main courtyard pool. The courtyard leads down to the ocean and the private beach was perfect for snorkelling! With plenty of pools and ocean-side loungers to choose from, you had your pick throughout the days and evenings if you wished. The room itself was cosy, very Latin American and super chilled out. It was cleaned once a day, little treats were left for us every night before bed and the staff would come along and make sure all our needs were met each day. We were awakened with espresso and coffee each morning. Let’s just say, they were on top of each and every task that was required, and everything ran like clockwork.
THERE IS MORE FOOD THAN YOU’LL EVER EAT.
The food at the Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos was beyond exceptional. With twelve on-site restaurants (open for various meals throughout the day), we were never at a loss for where to dine when hunger struck. My only regret is not trying every single restaurant! With twelve options and only four nights, it was nearly impossible to sample each spot. Every meal we did eat was amazing, though, so no real regrets!! The chefs and wait staff at each spot were so enthusiastic to share with us their menu favorites and make sure each meal was memorable – so helpful and friendly!
There was so much choice throughout the resort, from casual poolside grills and ceviche to fancier Italian-style or Asian options, any cuisine you desired was most likely provided at some point during the day. In the mornings there were freshly squeezed juices, every fruit you could ask for, omelets, tacos, etc. etc. etc. It was food heaven and easily catered to everyone and anyone.
THERE’S NO TIME TO GET BORED.
It’s funny how many people ask me if an all inclusive resort got a little boring. Lying on a beach all day doesn’t appeal to everyone, yet the Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos is so much more than that. I don’t think I lay down on the beach except for once. The Grand Fiesta Americana has a lot to keep you occupied. They have a spa, pool volleyball, snorkelling, a variety of other activities that you can help yourself to, plus activities that the staff help to organize. My favorite activity (or non-activity) was the afternoon we had a beach cabana. We had the most relaxing afternoon!
Honestly, there are a lot of reasons why this is a resort I would highly recommend. Trust me, for the price it will cost you to stay in Los Cabos, I would not steer you wrong on where to spend your time and money! The Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos is somewhere I would head back to in a heartbeat. If you’re looking for a very amazing Los Cabos resort experience, then this is probably your idea of a dream. It is every essential of a luxury resort stay and everything you will need. The food was divine, the staff were wonderful (beyond wonderful!) and the sand and views were stunning. Make sure you stay in an ocean-view room, use the snorkelling equipment and sip cocktails in every restaurant on site when the sun in setting. It’s truly paradise.
